Retirement Planning and Investing – Important action steps for achieving a financially secure retirement.
Refinancing a Mortgage - If you already own your home and would like to learn more about refinancing your home, this class will explain how refinancing works, and what options there are for refinancing. We will also share information on the government’s Home Affordable Refinance programs that may work for you even if your mortgage balance is higher than the present value of your home.
Purchasing a Home – Learn the basic steps to qualify for a loan to purchase a home and to also explain the homebuying process. We will also share information about local programs that are available to assist you with your down payment, such as NeighborhoodLIFT, which provides up to $15,000 to those who wish to buy a home in the city of Atlanta and who meet income and other requirements. The money can also be used for renovation when purchasing a home.
Homeownership Preservation – Keeping up with mortgage payments sometimes can be difficult. This workshop will cover options that are available to homeowners that are facing mortgage payment challenges. We will also share information on the government’s Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP.)
