Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. (CBC) President

Rev. Darrell D. Elligan, 5th year as President of CBC, is a native Atlantan. He is described by his colleagues as a Servant Leader "after God's own heart" with a purpose, passion and prophetic mission; he is also a businessman and a community leader. He received his formal education from Atlanta Pubic Schools, Massey Business College, and Georgia State University. He received his biblical education from Beulah Heights Bible College, cum laude and leadership training from Harvard University Leadership Institute.

Rev. Elligan is the Pastor of The True Light Baptist Church (TLBC) with a membership of 600 plus congregants. His mission is to build ministries that will impact the needs and encourage the growth of the individual, family, church, and community.

Reverend Elligan is the President and CEO of TLBC Lighthouse Community Development Corporation (CDC), which is a 501c3 non-profit organization that includes an early childhood development program, eight weeks Summer Camp, after School Program, and a School for Parents component.

He sits on the boards of many organizations in the city of Atlanta. He has served as Chairman of the Morehouse School of Medicine CRC Community Advisory Board; a board member of the Greater Southeast American Heart Association; a board member of Georgia NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness); Elligan serves on the Task Force of CETBA (Controlling and Eliminating Tuberculosis in the African American Community), and is on the Community Advisory Board of Organ Donation in the Black Community. Elligan serves on the policy council of the Fulton County Head Start Program and Children Healthcare of Atlanta Community Advisory Board.

Elligan is the recipient of the “Chosen Award” as one of the Ten Best Pastors in the City of Atlanta, for the year 1999. He is also recognized as one of 100 most influential Black Clergy in Atlanta by Atlanta Business Journal from 2001-08. He is also recognized as the top 100 Multi-Culture Business Leaders in 2007-08 from Atlanta Business Journal. He earned Outstanding Citizens Recognition by Georgia Secretary of State each year from 1998 to 2003. He is an honorary Deputy Sheriff Chaplain for Fulton County, Ga.
